All about SDJ

Steep Deep Japan is my very poorly named personal website dedicated my alpine activities in the Japanese Kita Alps. The bias is towards my home town of Hakuba where I have a small 'farm' employing a few permaculture methods below the peaks.

Content is added via my own diary, like a blog. See my Mountain Diary for daily snow season updates on backcountry conditions and snowpack details. Also check the Trip Reports Book for reports from a few special outings.

I also maintain a database of daily weather observations from my study plot.
