11 Dec - powder

A simple day skiing a couple of runs on 30cm powder in the shade. South aspects are getting cooked, especially steep ones above today's valley cloud. We didn't see any signs of instability besides difficulty breaking trail above treeline in wind effected areas where there was a very obvious variation in density and slabby surface. Punching through on the skin track correlated with the intense wind transport overhead in the alpine where lee slopes were loading and getting fat. The primary concern is windslab right now, probably pretty touchy on specific aspects and elevations. Look out for it.
