Poor visibility in the alpine, not nearly enough snow below tree line. Yet another day of no activity. Went for a walk to the shrine up on the hill behind our house. Despite the expense, I'm going up to wander in the murk today.

hey dude. went up Happo NF for a peek yesterday. there's a 40cm windslab on top of that rain crust you mentioned. it's really sensitive and shears very easily. CTE 9. nasty. right around gara gara. shooting cracks on the ski back down the ridge to top of Grat.

Hey Pinky, thanks for the info. I've heard similar from others as well. I was at 2300m near Tsugaike today and the snow is much less wind effected there, with the crust much deeper on the terrain I checked. No cohesive slab at all either - though wind transport was increasing into the afternoon. Waaay too much vegetation though!
