20 Jan - windy

Big winter storm coming at the end of the week, with a more reasonable snow event midweek. Today I sadly had to work from the pc and missed out. Winds were up at Happo, and I'd expect that ridge to be very well scoured, particularly after yesterday's wind hammering. Winds appear to have been generally moderate above Tsugaike, as they were yesterday. The Tsugaike end of the valley is also cloud-free and bright, whilst the Goryu-Happo end looks pretty socked in. The tale of two valleys, as usual. For better backcountry options and snow quality right now, head towards Otari.
