26 Dec - Back Online!
At last, back in Hakuba, back in the local terrain and snow. Two months in Canada was a big and special event for me, but I am very happy to be home. Daily weather study plot data and field observations will get going again for the season, after a much later start than normal. Yesterday was windy, there are rain crusts in teh snow pack, it was -15C at 800m last night and clear. Today I am going out to see to what altitude the rain crusts can be found and what condition they are in.
An exceptional morning here in Hakuba, -15C, clear and the near vertical appearance of the range main peaks are standing very bright in the morning sunrise. My fingers hurt just looking up there.
That's all we have for today. Want more?
