4 Feb - snowy

I've got nothing to report from the backcountry today. It snowed all day in the valley, less wind than recently. Clearing Sunday then, oops, warm from the south for a day, with heavy rain, before the cild pushes back in from the north. This is not unusual for Nagano and Niigata. The 850mb maps says it all. I personally do not care an ounce and will sleep by the fire to the sound of rain on my roof, but bad timing for some good customers of mine who will just have arrived. Later next week will improve.

In mid-Feb I am driving north on a road trip and for some work. Any one have some good suggestions for touring areas that I should check if they happen to pass by our route at the right time?

Oh yeah: weekly plea for someone to buy my virtually brand new Dynafit Titan Ultralight's. I need to sell them!
