First Snow 2009

12 Oct 2009

The first snow for the season fell a few days ago on my birthday when a typhoon rolled in over Japan. Almost enough for me to ski Yari, but not quite. Today the clouds passed and left us with a perfect Hakuba day.

Good to see some snow up there - and happy birthday!

Hi Chris, you don't miss a beat. Thanks for the birthday wishes and indeed, very good to see some snow.

Happy Bday Damian. You will be back in the thick of the snow before you know it! Hope all the guiding stuff goes well this season
Nigel

In the Shirouma-dake area, did it snow?
It is the opening of the season of pleasant snow.

Nigel - this 4 month off season really seems to be dragging on. Thanks for the bd wishes. See you some time this season.

Sakuchan - snow on Shirouma Dake has almost gone. Hopefully Daisekke will be good in the next 3 weeks.

& Happy Birthday! You came back again. The winter will come soon! I'll go to Tateyama on Nov 18-21, Hakkoda on Jan 12-16, and Colorado on Feb 17-25. Sorry that Hakuba has not appeared on my booking yet. So far, I have a plan to stay at Hakuba-Koya in April mtn ski season. SC

SC - sounds like you have a fantastic season ahead of you. Good to hear from you again as well.

It's good to see snow on the local hills and activity on your blog again after 5 months.
I'm looking forward to another season of your adventures.
Am sorry I couldn't bring the dog for a hike with Lloyd during this summer - next year, I hope.
