Previous Day Field Observations: 

Great below tree line powder skiing on all aspects at the moment. At 1700m on a south aspect I skied a quick run of 400m vertical of dry cold powder and Hakuba's backcountry is fantastic right now. Since we have not had a slot of wind, and only a steady moderate rate of snowfall the avalanche conditions are probably not that bad below 2000m on moderate terrain. It is a great time to tour with cold temps and clouds keeping the surface snow in great condition whilst not too deep for trail breaking.
