Tenki Diary 16 Dec 07

Sunday morning, 16 Dec: 60cm (six-zero!) new snow in the last 24 hours at 860m asl and my car is not going anywhere today: snowed in and 200m from the nearest moving road. Still snowing, still coming down pretty warm snow at 8.5% water. We are heading up the lifts outside the front door. Skiing is the only transport available to us. No backcountry today.

It was very deep, but not very light, kind of boggy, needed steeper terrain and constant speed to have fun.  Before we even had a chance, the lifts shut due to hight wind.  So we went inside and cooked nabe.  I genuinely don't like riding at resorts if I can at all avoid it, but today was so short lived that I felt a bit unsatisfied. Check the latest front page picture for a cabin shot.

Love the cabin. Looks like you have found a great place up there. And to have a resort right on your doorstep for when the weather doesnt cooperate for BC stuff you are pretty lucky.

It is a cozy cabin while the energy is burning, but unless you blast the heaters, it wont hit 5 degrees on its own.  I seldom keep it warmer than 8 degrees or so.
