In the 2008/09 season I started a new backcountry guiding operation. Hopefully it was the start of a very rewarding journey for many years to come.
My motivations are to share the amazing satisfaction and happiness that I get from being in the backcountry. As someone who lives in Hakuba and spends a lot of time in the backcountry I feel that it is my obligation (and pleasure) to share the experience with visitors who otherwise may not be able to find local customised guiding. So many people look out from the ski resorts in amazement at the alpine terrain that stands above Hakuba. It isn't fair that they should miss out on the adventure and memories and Hakuba Alpine Guides aims to change that.
I manage the operation and work as a tail guide, since I am not yet a qualified guide myself - and have no intention of pretending to be one until such time that I am qualified. All our lead guides are internationally qualified professionals. Check our website for more details.
